What are Aligners?

Aligner System is the latest system to correct irregularly placed teeth or malocclusion which is almost invisible. They are custom made transparent aligners which are removable. Series of aligners are made through a special software incorporating artificial intelligence which produce the desired movements every time the aligner is placed in the mouth resulting in gradually bringing the teeth to the ideal position.

How does the Aligners Work

• Dental Records of the patient are made through intra-oral & extra-oral photographs, impressions, x-rays and digital scans.
• These dental records are feeded in the artificial intelligence software which makes a 3-D customized treatment plan for the patient based on the treatment goals shared by the dentist.
• This 3-D treatment plan can be viewed by the patient and any changes required can be made before hand. It also gives an advantage of showing the predicted end result for patient information.
• This treatment plan gives an estimate of treatment time and number of aligners required for the complete treatment.
• Once the treatment plan is approved by the dentist and the patient, the software fabricates series of customized aligners through CAD-CAM technology.
• These aligners are then shipped to the dentist after fabrication.
• Once the dental office receives the aligners, your dentists will then deliver your series of aligners in stages.
• Aligner sets are required to be changed after a specified period of time for them to have optimal effect.
• The patient is required to visit the dentist for next set of aligners at a gap of 4-8 weeks as instructed by the dentist and to monitor the progress of the treatment.
• Once the treatment is complete, the last set of aligners is required to be used as retainers to maintain the new position of teeth. This time frame is again mentioned by the dentist depending on the treatment.
